Authors Electric: Pauline Fisk
Pauline's ebooks are:
Pauline Fisk is the author of eleven novels for children and young adults, published amongst others by Random House, Bloomsbury and Faber & Faber. She turned to e-publishing for the 21st anniversary of her Smarties Award winning novel, ‘Midnight Blue’, and will be self-publishing more of her other novels in e-book format over the coming year.
In 2008, sponsored by the Arts Council, Pauline went out to the jungles of Belize to do research for her gap year novel, ‘In the Trees’, which is now an e-book too. She says she’s always open to adventures in the name of a good story but that this one capped them all.
As well as being a writer, Pauline Fisk is also been a public speaker of many years’ standing, and runs writing workshops, often in libraries or schools. In July 2012 she will be leading a weekend at the arts centre, Gleanings, deep in ‘Midnight Blue’ country, on using myths and legends in creative writing.
Pauline grew up in London - where she made her big career decision to become an author at the age of nine - but has been based in Shropshire for most of her adult life. She has five children and three grandchildren and is married to architect, David Davies. The family is musical, but she is not, preferring to spend her spare time weaving on her looms and walking amongst the south Shropshire hills.
